Wheelchair Lift

When our parents died when we were teenagers, I knew I’d have to grow up fast and help take care of my sister, Jess. She is a quadriplegic and has been using a wheelchair since her birth. As her older brother, I’ve always had to look out for her, and I never minded it much because the truth is she looks out for me, too. When i finally acquired my licence, jess was too happy. She said she’d never been anywhere seeing as how she was stuck in that chair, and now she wanted to see the world. I didn’t mind bit my kid sister tagging along with me most places I went. The only thing which gave me a tough time was loading and unloading that huge wheelchair of hers. It was one of those motorized things and must have weighed around a hundred pounds. Internal and external wheelchair lifts

He can move around and even crawls pretty well, but for people with cerebral palsy walking is difficult, even painful. Last year Stephen acquired a motorized wheelchair. He quickly learned to operate it. But my mother had an issue with it. Whenever she took it anywhere, she found it difficult to get it in and out of her minivan. Motorized wheelchairs are heavy and unwieldy, she said. Its not that i am aware of what is the meaning of unwieldy. That’s when dad looked into wheelchairs lifts. ....More....

He rides on it downtown on the sidewalks and smiles, beeps and acknowledges every passerby. He claims that he never enjoyed so much. Before he acquired this new scooter, he liked to keep himself with in the confines of the house, now you can never find him inside on a sunny day. But there was still one thing which made grandpa worried. After he was finished spinning his wheels, he had trouble getting his mobility scooter in the trunk of his car. Even though scooters don’t weigh very much, grandpa is well past his weight lifting days. Oftentimes, he had to stop a stranger on the street and ask for help, which always embarrassed him.
